Provincial Nominee Programs

Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) are programs offered by Canadian provinces and territories that allow them to nominate individuals for permanent residency in Canada based on their particular economic and labor market needs.

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)

The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) offers several streams for skilled workers, graduates, and entrepreneurs who want to live and work in Alberta.

Streams for Skilled Workers

There are four streams for skilled workers under the AAIP:

  • Alberta Express Entry Stream: Candidates must have a valid Express Entry profile and a job offer from an Alberta employer in an eligible occupation.
  • Alberta Opportunity Stream: Candidates must be currently working in Alberta in an eligible occupation and meet the program's minimum language and education requirements.
  • Accelerated Tech Pathway: Designed to attract foreign workers with technology-related skills and experience to Alberta. Candidates must have a job offer from a designated Alberta employer in an eligible occupation.
  • Rural Renewal Stream: Designed for candidates who want to live and work in one of Alberta's smaller communities. Candidates must have a job offer from a designated Alberta employer in an eligible occupation.

Streams for Entrepreneurs

There are four streams for entrepreneurs under the AAIP:

  • Rural Entrepreneur Stream: For individuals who want to start or purchase a business in a rural community in Alberta. Candidates must have a minimum net worth of CAD 500,000 and make a minimum investment of CAD 150,000 in the business.
  • Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: For recent graduates from post-secondary institutions in Alberta who want to start a new business in the province. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum net worth of CAD 25,000 and receive a Letter of Support from an approved Alberta business incubator or accelerator.
  • Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream: For recent international graduates from post-secondary institutions outside of Canada who want to start a new business in Alberta. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum net worth of CAD 500,000 and receive a Letter of Support from an approved Alberta business incubator or accelerator.
  • Farm Stream: For individuals who want to purchase and operate a farm in Alberta. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum net worth of CAD 500,000 and make a minimum investment of CAD 250,000 in a primary production farming business in Alberta.

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP)

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) is a program created to address labour market shortages in the province by attracting and retaining skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates. The program offers various streams, such as the Skills Immigration Stream, Express Entry BC Stream, and Entrepreneur Immigration Stream, to facilitate immigration to British Columbia based on an individual's skills, experience, and business acumen. Through the BCPNP, British Columbia aims to strengthen its workforce and stimulate economic growth by filling gaps in the labour market and supporting the establishment of successful businesses in the province.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

 This program is for skilled workers, business investors, and international graduates who have the skills and experience to contribute to Manitoba's economy.

New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP)

The NBPNP is designed to attract and retain skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates to New Brunswick. The NBPNP has several streams, including the Skilled Workers with Employer Support Stream, the Skilled Workers with Family Support Stream, and the Entrepreneurial Stream.

Newfoundland and Labrador's Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP)

Newfoundland and Labrador's Provincial Nominee Program (NLPNP) is geared towards attracting and retaining skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates to the province. The NLPNP offers several streams, including the Newfoundland and Labrador Express Entry Skilled Worker Stream, the International Graduate Entrepreneur Category, and the International Graduate Stream.

The Northwest Territories Nominee Program (NTNP)

aims to attract and retain skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates to the Northwest Territories. The program offers several streams, such as the Employer-Driven Program, the Business Immigration Program, and the Self-Employed Program.

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)

The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) is a program created to bring skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates to Nova Scotia and encourage them to stay. The program has different options, such as the Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream, the Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream, and the Entrepreneur Stream, which offer different pathways to immigration depending on an individual's qualifications and experience. The Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP) is designed to attract and retain skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and international graduates to Prince Edward Island. The program has several streams, including the Express Entry Stream, the Labour Impact Stream, and the Business Impact Stream.
